- How do I book?
To book, just find the room that suits you and click the ‘book now’ button. Fill in the information and click ‘send’. We will get back to you with acceptance of your booking and send you the tenancy agreement to sign and return. - When I book online, I can’t choose the dates I want to start my stay.
Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with the dates and room you’d like to book. We can quickly and easily make the correct arrangements and send through a tenancy agreement for you to confirm, sign and deliver back to us.
- Do you take a security deposit?
If your booking application is successful, we will request a security bond, which is equal to four weeks’ rent. This bond is paid to and held by the Residential Tenancies Authority until your lease is finished.
- Do you refund my money if my course is cancelled?
In some circumstances, we can cancel your booking and refund your bond. These circumstances might include your course being cancelled if you’re a first year student, or a visa being denied. Please check our full Cancellation and Refund Policy on our Book Now
- Do I have to stay for a full year?
No, in fact our minimum stay is just four weeks! However, shorter stays are subject to availability. And, the longer you stay, the cheaper the rate.
- Can I visit to have a look before I book a room?
Of course! Just contact us via phone or email to confirm an inspection time.
- Do you have single rooms or only shared rooms?
We have both single and twin share rooms available. Visit our locations pages for more information on our accommodations.
- Can I live there if I’m not studying at UQ?
Yes, we welcome students studying anywhere. For students studying at UQ, our locations are incredibly convenient, being just a few minutes’ walk away.
- Will my rent increase?
No, your weekly rent rate will remain the same for the duration of your contracted stay.
- How much does a room cost?
The cost of your room depends on the length of time you’re staying, the location you’re staying at and whether it’s a single or a shared room. The prices are listed on our website on the Rooms pages.
- What’s included in my room rate?
Unlimited electricity, water, gas and unlimited high-speed internet are standard inclusions for all room types, as well as access to all of the on-site amenities and services.
- Do your rooms include cleaning services?
All common areas including kitchens, shared bathrooms, common balconies, lounge and outdoor areas are professionally cleaned twice a week. Cleaning of rooms and ensuites can be organised for a small fee. For full lists of inclusions, visit our specific Room pages.
- Are the kitchens equipped with utensils, plates and bowls?
Yes, kitchens come complete with everything you need, from teaspoons and towels to all appliances.
- What laundry facilities do you have?
At The Study Lounge, we have coin-operated washing machines and dryers available to students for $4 per wash/dry. At Munro Street, each townhouse has two washing machines and dryers that are free for student use.
- What do I need to bring?
You’ll need to bring all of your personal items, linen and bath towels. We do have linen packages available for purchase, so you can travel with less baggage and worry.
INCLUSIONS & FACILITIES
- Is there a bus stop nearby?
Yes, in fact there’s one on your doorstep! Bus, train and ferry links are all within walking distance, as well as a huge variety of shopping facilities, restaurants and of course, UQ. You can see more about getting around our beautiful neighbourhood on our Proximity page.
- Can I park my car there?
Yes, we have car parks available on-site for a small weekly fee.
- What are your drug and smoking policies?
For the safety of all our students, all drugs and illegal substances are strictly prohibited from our student accommodations. Students who bring illegal substances onto our grounds could be at risk of eviction and legal action by authorities. Our buildings are strictly smoke-free zones.
- Can my friend stay overnight?
Friends can visit, however our house rules state that guests are not allowed to stay past 10pm.
